Country Inn & Suites By Radisson, Dayton South, OH

We were comp 2 nights ONLY. Hotel did not waive our entire stay. That is a LIE. I can attach a copy of the bill and pics of the bedbugs if needed! Beware of bedbugs! My husband and I traveled to Dayton, OH to spend time with his mother who is the final stages of hospice care. We chose the Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Dayton South, OH because the location was very convenient. We checked in Saturday evening. The next morning I woke up with a bite on my right ear, 3 bits on my right arm, multiple bites on my right thigh, 2 bits on my upper left thigh and 1 bite on my right buttock. My husband and I assumed there was a mosquito in the room so we went out and purchased bug spray and wipes for the room. We got back to the room and proceeded to spray the carpet and bathroom along with the curtains in the room. What we also noticed was that someone had been in our room to give us new bath towels and wash clothes but did not make the bed, nor clean the bathroom and we both thought that was strange since we didn't request it and it seemed odd that housekeeping would put new towels in the room but not make the bed so I proceed to make the bed and that is when I noticed small red spots on the sheets. So we sprayed more bug spray to kill what we thought was a mosquito problem only to learn much later that there was a bed bug problem in our room. How we discovered this is by taking a photo of it while it crawled on the bed and then looking it up only to learned that it was indeed a bed bug bed so my husband smashed it and a fair amount of blood came out of it..assuming it was mine YUCK!!! My husband took photos of my multiple bits and the smashed beg bug and we marched down to let the front desk personnel know that we had an issued. She was not able to help us but did let us know when the manager who we later learned was the brother I believe of the owner for this independently owned hotel. While he did not seem surprised, he was kind enough to offer us another room after doing some checking so we were moved from room 312 to room 220. The new room was much bigger and certainly seemed cleaner as the first room was not so clean but tolerable besides the urine on the side of the toilet and dead bugs in the corners in the bathroom. After spending most of our day out of the room tending to my mother in law, we returned to the room tired and ready for bed only to discover a beg bug issue in the new room as well. My husband was lying up in the bed and I saw something crawling and sure enough it was a beg bug so this time we didn't kill it but instead trapped it in a plastic cup onto the bed so that we could show the front desk and manager. It was 10:30pm on Thursday, we are tired and very upset given my mother in laws situation and to then find yet more bug problems was too much. And, while the front desk personnel did offer to move us yet again, I declined and told her that we could not sty at that hotel, that we had already moved once and thought things would be okay yet more bed bugs so we had to find another hotel at 11:30pm Thursday evening. Thankfully and prayerfully, the Marriott had a nice clean Newly renovated king size room available, the front desk staff was so kind and pleasant to us at the Marriott and we were able to check in and attempt to get some much needed rest.
